The junior-varsity pitcher and catcher collided on the play, knocking one of them temporarily unconscious, witnesses told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The 4 p.m. contest with Cliffside Park High School was stopped, as borough ambulances took both from the field at School #6 on Oakdene Avenue to Hackensack University Medical Center.

“One went just to be checked but appeared to be OK,” Police Chief Donald Keane told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “One was still feeling some effects of the collision and needed further attention.”
