Wallington woman, 20, charged with DWI assault by auto in Garfield crash with motorcylist

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A motorcyclist was hospitalized last night after being struck by a car in Garfield driven by a drunken 20-year-old woman from Wallington, said authorities who charged her with assault by auto and DWI.

Natalie Sorotowicz was released on a summons to an adult pending an Aug. 19 arraignment in Garfield Municipal Court, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.

“The motorcyclist sustained obvious and serious injury and was immediately transported to Hackensack University Medical Center” following the 11:38 p.m. crash at the intersection of Semel Avenue and Scudder Street, Molinelli said.

He remained at HUMC in stable condition today, the prosecutor said.

Sorotowicz was arrested after for DWI aftef failing field sobriety tests, he said.

Charges include DWI under 21 years of age.
