Two jurors in Leaf child sex asault trial drop out

EXCLUSIVE: The jury in the child sex abuse trial of former Emmy-winning Fox 5 investigative reporter Charles Leaf lost two members yesterday — one whose fiancé died and another who went on vacation.

No witnesses were heard today, as the unexpected jury issues and weather dominated concerns.

The one juror’s fiancé died suddenly and unexpectedly Monday night.

The other  complained that the trial was taking too long, and that he wanted to go on vacation. He also reportedly commented on the probable outcome of the trial, considered inappropriate because neither side is even close to resting its case.

Two alternate jurors will take their place.

The Bergen County Courthouse was the last in the state to close yesterday due to the snowstorm. It was expected to remain closed today.
