Tractor-Trailer KOs Power To Stores In Hackensack Mall

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A tractor-trailer snagged wires and snapped a utility pole, downing a transformer and knocking out power Wednesday evening to several businesses at a Hackensack strip mall.

The crash occurred around 5 p.m. outside Mavis Tire in the Hackensack Avenue shopping center that includes Petco, Applebees and several other businesses just north of Riverside Square Mall and south of New Bridge Landing.

Police blocked off the area and utility crews were at the scene. No injuries were reported.
