Both women got out of their gray Mercury Sable at Central and Summit Avenues around 1:30 p.m. and went after the 29-year-old Honda Civic driver from Fairburn, Ga., Detective Lt. John Heinemann told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
“It began as a dispute among all involved,” Heinemann said. “Words were exchanged. He then tried to back up and drive away, but they wouldn’t let him.”
One of the two — identified as 18-year-old Emily Rivera Nunez — was holding a knife, the lieutenant said.
The other — Brittany Kneisler, 23 — broke the sideview mirror off the man’s car, he said.
At that point, the driver got out and grabbed the knife from Nunez, after which both women “punched and kicked him, tearing his clothing,” Heinemann said.
Police arrived and were confronted by a third woman — identified as Brittany Kneisler’s mother, 52-year-old Cynthia Kneisler — the lieutenant said.
She was arrested for obstruction, resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer, he said.
Her daughter was charged with assault and criminal mischief.
Nunez, meanwhile, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and two weapons counts.
All three were being processed at Hackensack police headquarters this afternoon.
The Georgia man declined medical attention, Heinemann said.
