Three-alarm blaze at Teaneck factory building

UPDATE: No serious injuries were reported in a blaze at an abandoned Teaneck factory fire this afternoon that continued to snag area traffic into the rush hour.

Columns of smoke could be seen miles from the former Stanson Chemicals building at 520 Palisade Avenue, where soap and detergents once were made.

“The warehouse was under demolition,” a firefighter at the scene told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“It probably started from a welder cutting up steal beams.”

Teaneck firefighters were being assisted by their colleagues from Bogota, Englewood, Ridgefield Park and Hackensack.
