Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the overnight arrest of Hoover Steven Villa of 176 West Main Street after questioning by detectives, who he said were notified by the state Division of Youth and Family Services.
Villa is being held on $325,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with rape, sexual assault and child endangerment. He’s due in courtin Hackensack next Wednesday.
If the name sounds familiar, that’s because “Hoover Villas” were public toilets where people lived during the Great Depression, in towns mockingly called “Hoovervilles,” after then-President Herbert Hoover.
