Gianfranco Maucione, 29, a former soccer coach at the East Rutherford school, is being held on $100,000 bail at the Bergen County Jail, charged with various counts of endangerment. He has an initial court date Tuesday in Superior Court in Hackensack.
East Rutherford and Carlstadt police picked up Maucione on Saturday at his Hasbrouck Heights home after authorities learned about the relationship on Friday, Molinelli said. Maucione resigned immediately.
Evidence includes inappropriate messages and photos of both of them, as well as instructions from Maucione that she touch herself, the prosecutor said.
Investigators now are trying to determine whether Maucione may have engaged in similar behavior with other students at the school, where he taught for seven years.
