Surgery possible in Emerson pedestrian crash

EXCLUSIVE: A 63-year-old woman from Hackensack sustained facial injuries that may require surgery after she either was struck by or walked into a vehicle near the Emerson train station.

The pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Kinderkamack Road when the incident occured, Emerson Police Capt. George Buono told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Although her injuries weren’t considered life-threatening, he said, she may need surgery on an orbital bone.

The crash initially was characterized as a hit and run. But police have located the driver of the Cadillac Esplanade involved.

An investigation was continuing.
