The bus was headed east on Passaic Street, en route to Teterboro near the Maywood border, when it was struck just after 7 a.m. by a 2012 Honda Accord driven by a 51-year-old man from Maywood making a left from the Esplanade northbound, Detective Capt. Thomas Salcedo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Four teenage students and the 56-year-old aide were on board, the captain said.

While the one student was wheeled to the ambulance, the other three walked to the rig under their own power and were taken to the hospital as a precaution, he said, adding that neither driver sought immediate medical attention.

An investigation was continuing.
