John Marion was arrested last night after being questioned about the alleged incidents, which Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said occurred in July and August at his Lafayette Avenue apartment with a girl under the age of 16.

Marion, who is separated from his wife, is being held on $100,000 cash bail, charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor — essentially, statutory rape.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday morning in Superior Court in Hackensack.

Marion works for SimplexGrinnell, a Rockaway-based company that designs, engineers and installs fire detection and security detectors and alarms, as well as sprinklers and other extinguishers. The company, which employes more than 10,000 technicians and other professionals, maintains, inspects and monitors the equipment, as well, according to its website.
