Christopher Gnazzo, 31, of South Hackensack, was released without bail pending an initial Municipal Court appearance following his arrest yesterday.

He is charged with “inappropriate touching” of his colleagues’ private areas at the corps’ “in the course of performing his duties” at the Phillips Avenue headquarters, township police Capt. Robert Kaiser said this evening.

Gnazzo became chief of the 16-member squad — five of whom are women, including a 17-year-old — in January.

He resigned shortly after yesterday’s arrest, which followed a two-week investigation, Kaiser said.
