Police originally arrested and charged Mary Tene, 54, on assault charges following the Sept. 11 incident after a search that lasted nearly three weeks.
Grand jurors who heard the case returned an indictment on Tuesday that adds similar charges against her husband, 45-year-old Jimmy Miller, because he was there and allegedly did nothing to stop the assault.
The beating began after the older woman tried to convince Tene to kick a drug habit, they said.
Tene, who has a violent criminal history, high-tailed it across the Hudson and was arrested in the Bronx despite cutting and coloring her hair and insisting to detectives who found her that she was someone else, Englewood police said.
She remained held on $125,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.
Miller, meanwhile, remained free pending an arraignment in Hackensack within the next two weeks.
