The 43-year-old laborer was operating a lathe at LEEM Filtration on Arrow Road around 12:45 this afternoon when his clothes were pulled into the machine, Police Chief Bryan Gurney told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The accident caused several injuries — including a severe back injury and a compound fracture of his arm, as well as a head injury, the chief said.

Emergency medical technicians worked on him for about 20 minutes before the victim was flown from nearby McFarren Field by AirMed One.
