Selfless lieutenant ‘touched lives of many,’ Bergen sheriff says

TRIBUTE: Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino today thanked the mourners and well-wishers from his office, law enforcement and beyond who supported the family of the late Lt. Brian Beutel.

The popular officer and father of five from Westwood was cremated before services at the Becker Funeral Home (photo, above).

“Another link in the chain of brotherhood has been broken, but we have lasting memories of [Beutel],” Saudino said, “as he has touched the lives of many through the love of his job and unselfish contributions to the community of Bergen County and beyond.

“Let our prayers continue to be with our extended family, the wife and daughters of Lt. Beutel,” the sheriff said. “We thank them for sharing him with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.”
