The 35-year-old Fairview pedestrian was expected to be released from Hackensack University Medical Center later today after being struck crossing Anderson Avenue near the borough library just after 8 a.m. (photo below)

No summonses were issued to the 42-year-old female driver, also from Fairview, Deputy Police Chief Martin Kahn told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A half-hour or so later, the Land Rover driven by a 53-year-old Ridgefield woman barreled into the Little Maria Plaza on Bergen Boulevard and pushed a Honda Accord into the laundry.

“Both of them ended up deep into the building,” the deputy chief said. “We’re grateful that nobody was hurt.”

The driver, who wasn’t injured, was issued a careless driving summonses, he said.

Borough police, firefighters and EMS responded to the crash at the shopping center off Walker Street across from the Fair Ridge Shopping Center.

Besides the Laundromat, the building has a Dunkin’ Donuts and an Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
