Although authorities said none of the injuries was life-threatening, Paramus Emergency Medical Services sent both of its on-duty ambulances to the scene, called in an off-duty crew, and still required the services of an ambulance from Hackensack due to the number of victims.
The local lanes of the highway and the ramp were closed for about 45 minutes while the wreckage was removed, most by flatbed truck.
Paramus police are handling the accident investigation.
