Officer Franklin Laboy stopped the car Thursday on Rochelle Avenue for a severely cracked windshield.

Jeffrey Ortiz, 32, was "extremely nervous [and] sweating profusely," Detective Sergeant James DePreta said Monday.

"He was removed from the vehicle and asked if he was carrying anything illegal, to which he replied, 'OK, you got me'," DePreta said.

Ortiz then handed over the heroin, he said.

He was processed and released pending a hearing on heroin possession charges.
