Seeing Officer Ryan Burke, Ramaen Kilfoil of Livingston got back into the car and tried to drive off around 1 a.m. Thursday, Detective Sgt. James DePreta told Daily Voice.
Burke pulled him over and got "several conflicting accounts of his reasons for being at the hotel," DePreta said Friday.
A search turned up a bag of marijuana, two bags of peyote mushrooms, six bags of methamphetamine, MDMA Molly pills, non-prescribed Xanax and Viagra, a rock of cocaine and a glass vial of PCP, along with empty glassine bags, a scale -- and two ledger books of sales to local customers, the sergeant said.
Detectives with a warrant also searched Kilfoil's home, where DePreta said they found "further evidence of narcotics distribution."
They charged him with eight separate counts of drug possession with the intent to sell them, in addition to other related offenses.
Kilfoil 35, was being held on $171,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.
