Lt. Dean Pinto found the 43-year-old woman on her back, halfway into the parking lot, just after 9:30 a.m., Chief Robert Flannelly said.
“She was unresponsive with shallow breathing and a weak pulse, [her] eyes rolled back with pupil constriction, and pale,” the chief said.
Unable to rouse her, Pinto gave her oxygen. He then found several pill bottles of opioid medication – and deployed Narcan to help rescue her.
A single dose brought her around, Flannelly said.
She was turned over to “On Time” EMS and Hackensack University Medical Center ambulance crew who administered more Narcan before taking the victim to HUMC.
“Another great job by our officers who continue to serve and protect and save lives in our town everyday,” Flannelly said.
