Patrol officers tipped Detective Sgt. James DePreta and Detective Chris Bermudez off to the crew, who were taken into custody at the Ramada Hotel on West Passaic Street around 1 a.m. Friday by Officers Franklin LaBoy, Brendan Stapleton and Chris Saldivia, assisted by Sgt. Edward Kukalski, Lt. Dean Pinto said.
Seized were 13 iPhone 7s, an iPad Mini, several Apple and Best Buy gift cards, fraudulent credit cards, fake driver's licenses and the cash, as well as two sandwich baggies of marijuana and a small baggie of Ecstasy/MDMA, Pinto told Daily Voice.
Arrested were:
- Nelson Quesada-Aristy, 25, of Tenafly;
- Miguel A Zevallos, 23, of Elmwood Park;
- Anthony Katcho, 23, of Wayne.
A judge later ordered Quesada-Aristy held without bail in the Bergen County Jail on charges of money laundering, trafficking in personal information, credit card theft, resisting arrest and possession of the drugs.
Zevallos and Katcho were each released without bail, charged with theft and money laundering.
