Rochelle Park PD 'Relaxed Grooming' Produces $2,500 Cancer Center Donation

ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- A donation of $2,500 will be made to the John Theurer Cancer Center's Urologic Oncology Division, thanks to a month of "relaxed grooming standards" at the Rochelle Park Police Department.

Rochelle Park officers who didn't shave for "Movember" donated the grooming expenses to the facility at Hackensack University Medical Center.

They also hoped to "bring awareness to men's health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health, and physical inactivity," Detective Sgt. James DePreta tol Daily Voice.

The officers kicked in while maintaining a GoFundMe that prompted donations from the public, he said.
