YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Rochelle Park police officer crashed a hotel parking lot drug deal last night, leading to the arrests of two men — one of them a fugitive sought by the NYPD — and the seizure of 258 pills without prescriptions, along with some pot, crack and $800 in alleged proceeds.

Officer Jared Shatkin approached a suspicious-looking vehicle around 10:30 p.m. and caught a whiff of burnt marijuana, Detective James DePreta told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

The owner, 37-year-old Clayton Earle of Oakland, consented to a search that turned up marijuana and a baggie of oxycodone tablets, he said.

Shatkin looked into another car parked nearby after learning that it belonged to Earle’s passenger, Kevin Washington, 35, of Jersey City. Inside he spotted a bag of pot in plain view, DePreta said.

A consented serach turned up more drugs, he said.

Shatkin and Officers Ryan Burke and Franklin Laboy seized 164 oxycodone tablets, 94 oxycontin tablets, crack, marijuana and cash and took the pair into custody.

Earle, the alleged buyer, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of oxycodone without a valid prescription.

He was committed to the Bergen County Jail as a fugitive from justice.

Washington, the alleged dealer, was charged with possession of prescription drugs, crack and pot — all with the intent to distribute them — along with an additional prescription drug possession charge and possession of “property derived from criminal activity.”

He was being held on $81,000 bail in the jail.
