Rochelle Park Coyotes Get Aggressive, Bergen Sheriff Urges Caution

ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino urged citizens Thursday to use caution after a pair of coyotes confronted a dog walker in Saddle River Park in Rochelle Park.

The coyotes "were aggressive and lunged towards their dog, but later retreated" during the Tuesday incident, the sheriff's Anthony Cureton said Thursday afternoon.

"Residents are asked to be vigilant when using the park and to report ALL coyote sightings to local law enforcement," he said.
