Gregory Komporlis was being held on $50,000 bail, charged with assault by auto, reckless driving and refusing to submit to a blood test.

The crash occurred just after 2:10 a.m. today in the northbound lanes of Forest Avenue, near Norman Way.

Paramus officers responded to the scene, joined by detectives from Molinelli’s Fatal Accident Unit.

They found that another drunk driver, 21-year-old Rebecca Wright of Paramus, was behind the wheel of a 2011 black Volkswagen that crashed into a utility pole, the prosecutor said.

A good Samaritan, Paramus Farbod Fallah, also 21, pulled alongside her disabled vehicle in his grey, 2005 Toyota Corolla, dialed 911 and got out to help, Molinelli said.

Moments later, Fallah and both cars were struck by an oncoming 2010 white Volkswagen Jetta driven by Komporlis, he said.

Fallah remained in serious condition with severe head and lower-extremity injuries at Hackensack University Medical Center, the prosecutor said.

A Paramus Municipal Court appearance for Komporlis is set for Wednesday.

Wright also received summonses for DWI and reckless driving. She has not been charged criminally.

Molinelli credited Paramus police and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office with their help in the investigation.
