Andrew J. Bates was arrested last May by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and village detectives after the girl’s mother contacted authorities and they interviewed the youngster.
Bates posted $200,000 bail two days later and was released from the Bergen County Jail.
The indictment charges him with digitally penetrating, molesting and trying to have intercourse with the girl between April 2012 and July 2013. Bates also is charged with impairing the morals of a minor and making her an abused or neglected child.
