The pair was loading cases of Canilla rice from a burglarized rail car into a GMC Yukon on Port Jersey Boulevard next to the Global Marine Terminal when police arrived around 9 o’clock last night, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.
The officers arrested the lone occupant and found 32 cases of rice, weighing about 60 pounds each and valued at a combined $2,000, loaded into the back of the Yukon, along with a small bag of crack cocaine on the floor, he said.
James Anderson, 19, of Jersey City was charged with theft and drug possession.
