PHOTOS: Fire gutted a Cliffside Park home today, sending former Detective Capt. Robert Linardi to the hospital with chest pains. The 34-year veteran was OK, friends and family confirmed tonight.

The two-alarm West End Avenue blaze was called in at 12:19 p.m. and was declared under control in 45 minutes.

Responders joining Cliffside Park included Edgewater, Fairview, Fort Lee, Palisades Park and Ridgefield firefighters, along with Hackensack Rescue and Teaneck Box 54.

The cause wasn’t immediately determined.

A popular officer, the 70-year-old Linardi retired as captain of detectives in 2002.
