Vincent Scanapieco, 46, of South Hackensack, and 26-year-old David Reliford of Bloomfield were in a manhole at Essex and Main streets outside the courthouse when the 11 p.m. blast occurred, igniting a fire, said Hackensack Police Capt. Frank Lomia.

Scanpieco, a 1981 Hackensack High School graduate, is married. Reliford graduated from Bloomfield High School in 2001.
