Prosecutor: Palisades Park man, 40, had sex with New Milford teen

A 40-year-old Palisades Park man who last fall participated in the town’s National Night Out against crime held a secret crime of his own, prosecutors said today: He’d been sleeping with a New Milford girl beginning when she was 14.

The three-year relationship was discovered by a staffer at New Milford High School, who called local police, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.

Police and detectives from Molinelli’s Special Victims’s Unit arrested Leo Lopiccolo today and charged him with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment.

Lopiccolo, who Molinelli said is married and works at the Home Depot in Hackensack, was being held on $250,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.
