Abraham A. Chumil, 33, who was living in North Bergen at the time, was sentenced in Hackensack yesterday to four years and three months without parole. But he received credit for the 446 days he’s spent in the Bergen County Jail since his Aug. 27, 2013 arrest.
Before he’s deported Chumil must submit a DNA sample for the national registry.
Chumil pleaded guilty in June to a single second-degree count of sexually assaulting a minor.
He told the judge he was in his underwear during a sleepover at the children’s parents’ home when he became aroused as the girl sat on his lap while playing a cellphone game, her legs open against his leg.
After she slid off, he said, he pulled her back, touching her buttocks and vagina. The girl’s 6-year-old sister was in the room at the time, prosecutors said.
In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped charges that included sexual contact, impairing or debauching the morals of a child and child endangerment through sexual conduct.
