PAPD officers at Newark Airport's Terminal found a 78-year-old Middlesex County man on the floor of the mezzanine level around 10 p.m. Thursday, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
"He had no pulse and wasn't breathing," he said.
Using a defibrillator, the officers officers applied three shocks to the man, who was still unresponsive.
"Another officer took over manual chest compressions until an Advanced Life Support team responded and transported the patient to Newark Beth Israel Hospital for treatment," Pentangelo said.
"The patient survived," he said.
Less than eight hours earlier, at JFK Airport in Queens, PAPD Officers Matthew Reen and Port Authority Mike Annunziata found an unresponsive 25-year-old West Babylon man sitting in his car, Pentangelo said.
"He was gasping for air, with low shallow breaths," he said. "His lips and earlobes were blue and his body was cold to the touch."
The officers administered Narcan, reviving the victim, who was hospitalized for further treatment, Pentangelo said.
