An officer on her post saw 24-year-old Jonathan Jackson run past her onto the 39th Street overpass yesterday afternoon, interfering with cars headed into the tunnel, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said this morning.

She alerted her colleagues, who chased him down.

The victim then came up and told them he’d been standing at the corner of 40th Street and Ninth Avenue when Jackson grabbed a bag of belongings and cash that he was holding.

Jackson had the bag, the cash and some of the property when the officers grabbed him, Pentangelo said.

He was charged with petit larceny, possession of stolen property and trespassing. Police also found a warrant for fare evasion, Pentangelo said.
