Police seek help finding vehicle that struck Little Ferry man, 59, in Hackensack

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: Authorities are seeking help finding the hit-and-run driver of a car (photo, above) that struck and severely injured a 59-year-old Little Ferry man in Hackensack last night.

The man was found in the northbound lane of First Street, between its intersections with Clay Street and Berdan Place, around 9:15 p.m., Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

The victim, Grady Fort, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, he said.

Fort was crossing First Street when the northbound vehicle hit him and kept going.

Molinelli said investigators believe it was a compact red car of SUV, possible a Toyota Rav4.

It was damaged in the area around the passenger side front headlight, he said.
