Hackensack detectives went to Burlington County last week to arrest Joshua A. Vangorden on charges of sexual assault and child endangerment.

Vangorden, who’s worked the past two years at Fort Dix, remained held on $200,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

A 2010 graduate of Toms River High School, Vangorden was brought before Central Municipal Court Judge Louis Dinice at the jail last Thursday to have the charges read against him (SEE PHOTO).

“They were chatting online and face-to-face on Skype before things escalated to the point where graphic images were sent back and forth,” Hackensack Detective Capt. Thomas Salcedo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

City police were contacted by the parent and, soon after, had Vangorden in custody, the captain said.
