PHOTOS: An elderly driver was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with possible broken ribs after Elmwood Park police said he cut off a tractor-trailer, causing a crash this afternoon.

Saddle Brook Fire Rescue helped extricate the 64-year-old West Orange driver, who was taken to the hospital by Fuchs EMS after the crash outside the Royal Warsaw restaurant on River Drive just after 1 p.m., Police Chief Michael Foligno told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The victim was headed south on River Drive and tried to turn into the restaurant lot directly in front of the rig, which struck his white Lexus ES350, driving it backward into a retaining wall, Foligno said.
