The owner of Century Food Market on Anderson Street told police the gunman came in around 8:30 last night and asked whether the lottery machine was working. He said the robber then pulled out a weapon and said, “Give me all the money.”

“He apparently wasn’t moving fast enough for this guy, who went behind the counter and took the cash himself,” Detective Capt. Thomas Salcedo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The robber also took a cellphone to keep the owner from calling police, the captain said.

Police have a good description of the thin, black man, who looks to be about six feet and in his 30s, with other distinguishing features. He was wearing a green hoodie with a brown baseball hat at the time, Salcedo said.
