Maywood police obtained an arrest warrant earlier this week for Alexander Gesin after State Police returned the results of DNA tests on skin samples collected by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Identification from the smashed window of a vehicle outside at Bergen Town Center.

A laptop valued at $850 was taken in the break-in, they said.

Gesin, 47, was behind held on $10,000 bail, charged with burglary and theft.

Authorities in Florida charged Gesin in August 2012 with taking a $450 silver crown from a synagogue and then selling it in North Miami, records show. He has previous arrests and convictions in New York, as well.
