Poles smashed, driver ejected in Park Ridge crash

ONLY ON CVP: A driver was ejected after his Chevy Suburban bounced off a utility pole, hit a tree and then snapped another pole in half in Park Ridge last night.

AirMed One flew the driver to Hackensack University Medical Center with head trauma after the crash around 10 p.m. in front of 222 Spring Valley Road.

A source with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT that he claimed he wasn’t driving and that there was another occupant, but no one was found at the scene. A second chopper that was put on standby was then cancelled.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office was investigating.

Montvale and Woodcliff Lake police assisted their Park Ridge colleagues with road closures and traffic control.
