PIP closed from Fort Lee to Pomona after 20-vehicle crash, spinouts, stalls

UPDATE: The Palisades Interstate Parkway was closed from Fort Lee to Pomona, NY for three hours today while police and cleanup crews worked to assist motorists and clear the highway.

PIP police responded to a host of crashes, including a 20-car collision that resulted in three injuries on the southbound PIP near Hudson Terrace and forced the closure of the GWB approach.

There were eight other crashes and five disabled vehicles in a short morning span, PIP Police Chief Michael Coppola said. Several others are unable to move at various times, the chief said.
