Pickup Truck Tips In Maywood Crash

MAYWOOD, N.J. -- Two drivers were hospitalized with what Maywood police said weren't serious injuries after a pickup truck collided with a compact car and overturned Tuesday morning.

The driver of the compact car apparently continued through a stop sign and didn't see the pickup at the corner of Elm and East Pleasant avenues, Police Chief David Pegg told Daily Voice.

So "you ended up with two vehicles trying to occupy the same space," he said.

The pickup driver climbed out after Hackensack and Maywood firefighters popped the door.
