Photo show: Hoboken after the flood

CLIFFVIEW PILOT has an amazing array of photos from FDU grad Jayme Lisiewski, who has been on top of the storm out of Hoboken since the first clouds rolled in. These include shots from Hoboken Terminal, Waterfront Park and several streets in town.

It’s not a post-apocalyptic landscape. But if you know Hoboken at all, several shots will seem familiar — only in an eerie way.

“It was interesting seeing people slowly trickling out of their houses, almost if is shocked at how abruptly the storm ended,” said Lisiewski, who grew up in Jersey City — a lifelong Hudson County resident.

“I was expecting a bit worse, given the level of caution everyone had ahead of the storm. When you have boats positioned on Washington Street just in case, it kinda prepares you mentally for the worst.

“It’s still not a pretty picture here, but it could have been much worse.”
