The 44-year-old Bronx resident was in a marked crosswalk when the rig hit him while turning from Huyler Street onto Chippewa Court outside the BMW plant just before 7 a.m., BCPD Lt. James Mullin told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
“The 62-year-old driver stated, in effect, that he never saw him,” Mullin said.
The pedestrian suffered head injuries as a result, the lieutenant said.
“At this time, there are no criminal charges,” Mullin said just before noon. “However, the incident is still being investigated by BCPD detectives and summonses may be issued.”
