Carla Doylew was released on a summons to appear in court on charges of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, failing to yield to a pedestrian, careless driving and obstruction, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.

Mario Garing was in moderate condition with several broken bones and head bruises at Hackensack Medical Center after being struck just after 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Paramus Road and Grove Street.

Garing was crossing Paramus Road headed west in the crosswalk when he was struck by Doyle’s four-door 2011 Mazda, Ehrenberg said.

Doyle initially stopped, but then kept going south on Paramus Road, he said.

Several witnesses got her license plate number and called police.

This comes after Ridgewood police arrested and released Doyle following the Nov. 4 shoplifting of two bottles of liquor at the Stop and Shop.
