The 61-year-old victim was recovering this morning after surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center after being stabbed around 9 p.m. in the kitchen area of the Ewha Won Restaurant in the shopping center on Piermont Road, Closter Police Chief Dennis Kaine said.

The assailant — identified as 33-year-old Guatemalan national Antonio Lopez-Tuche of Palisades Park — then fled, Kaine said.

A Bergen County Sheriffs K-9 unit tracked Lopez-Tuche through the nearby woods before losing the scent, the chief said.

A little over two hours later, Closter officers found him walking along Piermont Road, he said.

Lopez-Tuche was being held in the Bergen County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and illegal weapons possession.
