Some was struck by a car around 7:30 p.m. as he walked in the middle of the street in front of his home in the 100 block of Prospect Street, Hackensack Police Director Michael Mordaga told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“There was no wrongdoing to my knowledge,” Mordaga said. “He was walking in the middle of the street and he was hit.”

Following in his father’s footsteps, Some launched his business in Jersey City before moving to Route 17 in Paramus and then, finally, to Main Street in Hackensack, where he took over the building that once housed Womrath’s Books.

The cigar-smoking businessman counted among his customers the United Nations, Port Authority police, and Hollywood studios, as well as emergency responders from throughout the U.S.

Among his products were field uniforms, decontamination suits and commemorative pins and bars that were ordered by the tens of thousands after 9/11.

Uniforms by Some have appeared on TV shows (see photo, above right), on the Broadway stage and at the Metropolitan Opera.
