Albert James Voute III of Oradell
A Bergen County law enforcement official last night confirmed the death for CLIFFVIEW PILOT of Voute, 36, a convicted bank robber who escaped in West Virginia on Sept. 15 from a privately-contracted prisoner transport service van while en route to Hackensack to face separate charges.
A multi-state manhunt stretched up the East Coast, and the television show “America’s Most Wanted” featured the white supremacist and former skinhead, who made his break — shoeless — while a transport guard was asleep during a stop.

Danbury police, answering a call of a car stolen from a convenience store just before 7 p.m. Friday, pulled up on Voute, who smashed the car into a wall, jumped out and ran, according to Connecticut’s Department of Public Safety. Moments later, a trooper on patrol tried to stop him on I-84, authorities said.
According to several officers and civilians, Voute pointed his gun directly at the trooper, who opened fire.
Voute originally was on his way to a hearing in Superior Court in Hackensack from a Southern federal prison — where he was serving 14 years on bank robbery convictions in New Jersey — when he gave the private extradition company the slip around 2:15 a.m. Sept. 15.
Authorities suspected might have continued on to New Jersey and toward his former home in Oradell. Either that or a safe spot in New York City.
“America’ Most Wanted” revealed that Voute had mental health issues and attempted suicide-by-cop.
He was also covered in tattoos, with a large portrait of Adolf Hitler on his back and a smaller one on his left leg. U.S. Marshals said he also had unidentifiable “tribal-style” tattoos on his left arm, as well as the word “Resist” inked on the back of his left arm and “Goyim” tattooed across his stomach.
