No summonses in crash that seriously injured 20-year-old Cliffside pedestrian

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: No summonses were issued to the driver of a pickup truck that seriously injured a 20-year-old pedestrian in Cliffside Park. The driver was identified as 74-year-old Antonio Latella, who runs a landscaping company with his sons just up the street.

The woman was reported in critical condition Friday at Hackensack University Medical Center.

She and her mother, who is in her 40s, were crossing Columbia Avenue just yards from Anderson Avenue when the accident occured. The younger of the two Albanian women was pinned beneath the back of the Chevrolet Silverado, Gaito said.

Columbia Avenue, which had long been an eastbound street, recently was turned to head west.
