New rape trial for former Palisades Park mob associate

EXCLUSIVE: A former mob associate from Palisades Park whose rape trial ended in a hung jury last month will be back in court for a new trial on Nov. 4.

Presiding Superior Court Judge Liliana DeAvila-Silebi set that date after Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor David Calviello told her this morning that 73-year-old Angelo “Ken” Wedra rejected a plea deal.

Wedra, who was taken from the county courthouse in Hackensack to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck after complaining of “angina-like” symptoms during deliberations, said nothing during the brief hearing.
