New Milford store clerk held on Louisiana charges of online child sex chat

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and New Milford police this morning arrested a borough store clerk wanted out of Louisiana on charges of having sexually explicit online chats with a minor.

Ryan Dempsey, 24, was being held without bail in the Bergen County Jail pending extradition.

Detectives also seized “images and videos depicting child endangerment” during a raid on his Canterbury Lane home, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

In addition to a fugitive from justice warrant, Dempsey is also charged with child endangerment, the prosecutor said. A Superior Court appearance in Hackensack was set for this Friday.

Molinelli thanked Bogota, Oradell and New Milford police for lending personnel to his Computer Crimes Unit.
